Christie in Coimbra Curated Tours

Stunning view of the buildings on hills in the Baixa area of Coimbra. Building beautifully backlit by sunlight.

Through extensive travels across continents, I’ve developed an eye for the extraordinary moments that transform both a simple trip and a life transition into profound cultural awakenings. Whether it’s discovering a hidden fado house, connecting newcomers with essential local services, finding the perfect viewpoint over the Mondego River, or linking travelers and new residents alike with artisans who still practice traditional crafts, I specialize in curating experiences that go beyond the typical tourist path.

Coimbra is a city of enchantment that provides opportunities to create memorable moments at every turn. Almost every corner has some little treasure to offer, whether it be a mural, a small taberna (tavern) pulling you in with the most delicious aromas wafting from the open door, or an unexpected musical performance on the street by the students from the university. Coimbra is a city of magic, warmth, history, and pride. After I immigrated to Portugal from the U.S., it seems like I had visitors from the States every week. I could not wait to share my love for my new city with them and all it has to offer. I was told by every single person that my passion and love for my new home was contagious and that I should offer this service professionally. Thus, Christie in Coimbra Curated Tours was born. I look forward to exploring this wondrous city with you. Just be careful, you may never want to leave!
